亲爱的家长和监护人:

We are thrilled to announce that between the Thanksgiving Break and Winter Break, Hillside will be holding our interdisciplinary program, 山坡上的标志. From 11月ember 30-December 16, students will participate in this innovative program.

山坡上的标志 is a chance for students to investigate something that they find interesting and do a deeper dive into exploring that topic. 在Hillside教职员工的指导下, students will spend their days investigating, 使用实践, experiential learning to discover more about a specific topic. Students will take respite from their traditional academic curriculum and tackle questions and topics that are unique and interesting to them. We expect the 山坡上的标志 to shape each student's world view and to provide them with thought provoking experiences.

Students will be required to keep a daily journal, take photos to document their experiences and present their 山坡上的标志 项目的最后. 我对这些经历感到兴奋, the investigations and the interdisciplinary learning that will take place during this time.

As Hillside School prepared to open for the 2021-2022 school year, 31 international students made their way across newly opened borders, navigating travel restrictions to arrive on campus 2 weeks early as part of our JumpStart program. 2014年首次推出, JumpStart is a two-week program for first- and second-year international students that accelerates their transition into the Hillside community and helps prepare them for the year ahead. JumpStart was created to give these students the time and opportunity to ease their transition to life at Hillside, where simply getting over jet lag can take days! 的 goal of JumpStart is quite simply to give the boys a "jump" on the school year where they can get used to life at Hillside in a safe and transitional way, 在正式开学之前.
